This year, the Wii U has scene the release of Mario Kart 8, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, Hyrule Warriors, and Bayonetta 2 — among other games, of course. But it's these type of blockbuster games that have helped the Wii U's sales grow to have "a very strong year," as Nintendo put it.
With NPD Group having announced October's video game sales numbers, Nintendo today confirmed that through the first 10 months of 2014, total sales of Wii U hardware and software have increased by 47 percent and 84 percent, respectively, over the same period in 2014. With the release of Super Smash Bros. Wii U and amiibo next week on November 21, Nintendo only expects these numbers to grow.
Finally, some good news regarding the Wii U, right? I was getting tired of writing the constant doom and gloom articles. The question is, will these increased sales lead to more third-party developers taking a chance on Nintendo's system?
