Looks like someone at a video game retail store in the U.K. jumped the gun on a new 3DS bundle. The U.K. retailer ShopTo posted a pre-order listing for an Animal Crossing: New Leaf 3DS XL hardware bundle to its website, and then swiftly removed it. But not before the fast people of the internet were able to spot it.
The listing included a white 3DS XL with Animal Crossing-themed print on it — apples, dots, leaves and houses — with a pre-installed digital copy of New Leaf. The bundle was listed for £189.85 with a launch date of June 14, which is the release date for the game in Europe. Before now, the bundle had only been available in Japan. Technically, it still is.
Tomorrow's Nintendo Direct presentation will be focused on the 3DS, starting at 10a.m. ET on April 17. There's been no word from Nintendo whether the bundle will be available in North America, or whether it was just a mistake by ShopTo. That said, this all reeks of someone screwing up at ShopTo. Odds are, Nintendo will announce this bundle tomorrow.
