Windborne is a heartfelt social sandbox-creation game from Defense Grid developers

Hidden Path Entertainment, the developer of the Defense Grid games and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, is working on a social sandbox game where players explore and create solo or with other players, all at their own pace.

It's called Windborne, a single-player and multiplayer experience that's coming to Steam Early Access later this year. Players can develop their own islands — crafting, building, and more — raise dragon companions, and establish communities with friends. There are ruins with treasure and puzzles, creatures called Jin to help, enemies to fight, and quests to complete or ignore.

The developer cites inspiration from games like Animal Crossing, Minecraft, Dwarf Fortress, and the early Zeldas.
