Witcher 2 saves will transfer to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

But whether it affects much is unknown

Last week we saw tons of details on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt emerge from the woodwork. The details focused in on the number (and size) of cities and towns, gameplay (no quicktime events, Geralt's beard grows over time) and a day one patch on all systems.

We already knew that Witcher 3 would be running at 1080p on the PlayStation 4 and 900p on the Xbox One, but did you know that side-quests will contribute to over 50 hours of gameplay to The Witcher 3? Well, that's according to CD Projekt Red community coordinator, Marcin Momot, who while speaking with the official UK division of Xbox also revealed some information about the game's save functionality.

According to Momot, you'll be able to import saves/choices/decisions that you made in The Witcher 2 into The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. What the save transfer will affect was not detailed, but it was emphasized that the game was designed to be friendly to people who are new to the series — although, those who choose to transfer saves will have a 'special mechanism' in-game. I'm not entirely sure if imported saves will affect anything.

Oh, and how did CD Projekt Red make Geralt's hair so sexy? Momot didn't even have the words for that question.
