WWII Multiplayer FPS, Day of Infamy moves into Early Access Beta and brings new features with it

Hardcore multiplayer fans should check it out

The hardcore WWII shooter known as Day of Infamy has been in Early Access Alpha for the last five months. Developer New World Interactive has reached the point where they feel comfortable enough to move the game into Beta, and have done just that. Alongside a simple designation, the Beta Phase also brings with it, a host of new features, which add some nice new systems to the game.

Here are the notable features per an official press release:

  • A new stats and rankings system with several rank levels to attain, and when players advance, their character model will display the arm patch of their rank.
  • A Unit system, which rewards players with cosmetic inventory adding diversity to each faction and expanding historic representation.
  • Air Support – All factions now have a Carpet Bombing option, while the U.S. Army have a Mustang strafing run and the Germans have a Stuka dive bomber, with their fearsome siren.

On top of that, the developers are releasing one individual unit per faction to celebrate the launch of the Beta. These units are only available for Early Access buyers and can't be acquired after the game launches in full. Here's a list of the units:

  • Gordon Highlanders (Commonwealth)
  • 1st Ranger Battalion (U.S. Army)
  • Infanterie Division (German Wehrmacht)
New World Interactive is also working on additional units including the Fallschirmjäger, 101st, and 82nd Airborne Divisions, 92nd “Buffalo Soldiers” Infantry Division, Canadian regiments, Australian regiments, Indian regiments, and more.
