Xbox head on whether PC will get Xbox One’s backward compatibility library: “Never say never”

Xbox Head Phil Spencer has been talking about "unified gaming" for quite a while. In fact, ever since Spencer revealed that he believed Microsoft had lost their way on PC gaming, the gaming giant has doubled down on their efforts to build a thriving PC community.

These efforts have resulted in bringing the Xbox UI to Windows 10 and making Xbox games playable through the Xbox app on Windows with the 'Play Anywhere' feature. The feature was announced during E3 2016 and revealed that a number of Xbox One exclusives would be making the jumped to PC.

With so much talk in unifying the PC and Xbox gaming communities, it's understandable that people would be questioning whether or not the PC will be getting the Xbox One's backward compatibility library. Unfortunately, the answer is unclear. When asked whether or not the feature would be coming, Spencer's reply wasn't an outright no, but not a yes either.

So it's more difficult to port the Xbox 360 games to PC, but not impossible.

But where does the upcoming console 'Project Scorpio' fit into these PC plans? It's unclear, however, we do know that existing Xbox One games will be available on the console, as will the backward compatible Xbox 360 games.
