Microsoft has announced today that Hulu will be rolling out a free 3-month trial of Hulu Plus for all Xbox LIVE Gold members living in the United States.
"Any Xbox Live Gold members who are not already Hulu Plus subscribers can sign up directly from within the Hulu Plus app and will receive a free 3-month trial of Hulu Plus," Microsoft's Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb said.
The announcement coincides with the rollout of a new update that will remove the paywall that prevented those without Xbox LIVE Gold from accessing apps on Xbox systems. Of course, having a Gold membership will still have its benefits like free games each month through Games with Gold as well as incentives like the free trial Hulu is providing. This month, Gold members will receive two free games on Xbox One — Max: The Curse of the Brotherhood and Halo: Spartan Assault — as well as three on Xbox 360 — Dark Souls, Charlie Murder and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition.
Microsoft says Hulu will begin rolling out the trial promotion "in the coming days," so sit tight while we wait to hear more.
