With E3 behind us, we've now officially entered the summer gaming drought. Hopefully you built up quite a big Steam collection during the Summer sale because it's a slow month for Xbox One. July doesn't see much in terms of new releases so maybe it's time to catch up on some of those Xbox One launch titles. Here's are the major releases for Xbox One in July 2014:
Sniper Elite 3 has been available on PC and on consoles in Europe since June. But for those of us in the United States, it'll be released on July 1. Sniper Elite 3 sees American OSS agent Karl Fairburne deep behind Nazi lines, providing crucial sharpshooting skills as the allies battle Germany's Tiger tanks across the Western Desert. Karl soon discovers that he has much more to worry about than the famed Afrika Korps.
Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition is a brawler/platformer brought to the Xbox One via the ID@Xbox self-publishing program. In the game, you play as Juan Aguacate, a masked Mexican wrestler on a quest to save the President’s daughter from the evil, skeletal Carlos Calaca. Though Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition will cost $14.99 at launch, it's making its Xbox One debut as one of July's free Games with Gold. That means if you are an Xbox LIVE Gold member, you're getting it for free.
If you purchased an Xbox One at launch in November, there's a good chance you snagged Forza 5 alongside it. The racing game from Turn 10 Studios was probably one of best games available at launch, which could be why it's getting the "Game of the Year" treatment. Whatever the case, the re-release will feature 17 tracks and 10 additional vehicles previously featured in the Top Gear Car Pack.
