Xbox One HDMI game capture policy will support game capture devices

After adopting a new format for Xbox One chat communication, meaning your current Xbox 360 headset will not work unless you purchase a recently announced headset adapter, Microsoft has eased worries of YouTuber’s everywhere, confirming that their current gameplay capture footage policy will remain unchanged when Xbox One releases this fall.

"Xbox One will support gameplay footage capture just as it works on Xbox 360," a Microsoft representative told IGN.

Many previously feared that game capture devices such as Elgato Game Capture HD and Roxio Game Capture HD Pro would be blocked by HDCP (High-Bandwidth Copyright Protection) restrictions.

As an owner of an Elgato Game Capture HD, I, too, am breathing a sigh of relief.
