The list of independent developers signed on to develop for the Xbox One continues to grow as Microsoft today revealed over 60 new ID@Xbox partners. They are:
Short for Independent Developers @ Xbox, the program was established by Microsoft to "offer game developers the same great benefits that existing Xbox developers have today, including the full power of the console, cloud services, Kinect and the Xbox Live toolset such as Xbox SmartGlass, multiplayer, Achievements, Gamerscore and more." It's designed to cater more towards indie developers in an attempt to provide equal opportunity as some of the larger Xbox publishers. Microsoft says that "more than 200" developers are already creating Xbox One games using dev kits provided by the ID@Xbox program.
"It has been an exciting couple months for ID@Xbox," ID@Xbox director Chris Charla said. "We created this program to make it easy for independent developers to bring their innovative ideas to Xbox One, and the response from the community continues to be amazing!
"ID@Xbox is a global program and we’re committed to bringing the best from around the world to Xbox One," Charla concluded. "The first ID@Xbox games are in certification now and, as always, we continue to look for ways to improve the creation process for our ID@Xbox partners with new processes and tools. Stay tuned for updates on both soon!"
