The Year of Luigi will continue into 2014, according to Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime.
"There are some Year of Luigi activities that will continue into 2014 — including some of the special products that we’ve launched (the Luigi remote and the Mario and Luigi 3DS XL) — so there will be some Luigi products to carry the Luigi banner into the next calendar year," Fils-Aime told Siliconera.
Nintendo announced its Year of Luigi promotional campaign in early February, all to give the often overlooked Mario brother some extra love and appreciation. That dedication included the release of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Mario & Luigi: Dream Team for 3DS, as well as New Super Luigi U, a standalone expansion to New Super Mario Bros. U for Wii U.
Sadly, the year's celebrations have been dampened by the passing of Danny Wells, the Luigi actor from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show.
