Yoshi’s New Island releasing on 3DS in spring 2014

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced during this morning's Nintendo Direct that a sequel to Yoshi's Island, titled Yoshi's New Island — quite creative — will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS is spring 2014. The game is being headed by Takashi Tezuka, creative director of the 1995 SNES game Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

There's not much more to say, really. The art style is what you'd come to expect, with visuals that look like they were painted. And, as usual with the franchise, the game is a platformer where Yoshi uses eggs as projectiles.
