Not a fan of mobile gaming? Then you might have missed out on one of the best game releases this year, Angry Birds Star Wars. You're not completely left in the cold, though. Rovio Entertainment has released its bird-flinging, lightsaber swinging game on Facebook.
“It’s all the fun of Angry Birds Star Wars taken to the next level,” said Petri Järvilehto, EVP of Games at Rovio. “You get the great Angry Birds Star Wars gameplay for free, plus you can compete against your friends to see who is the ultimate bird-flinger and Jedi Master.”
Angry Birds Star Wars takes the same gameplay from its mobile version and expands upon it with new power-ups, tournaments, and full social integration. Each week, five new levels will offers fans new challenges to compete against friends, with a chance to earn in-game rewards.
Angry Birds Star Wars on Facebook also features three exclusive new power-ups: Blaster Droid, Saber Sling, and Thermal Detonator. Use the Thermal Detonator to plant an explosive surprise, the Blaster Droid for laser destruction, and Lightsaber Sling for super flinging. Additionally, you can now use the Clone Bird ability to create a duplicate bird of your choice for those more difficult situations.
Lastly, the app on Facebook lets you cooperate and compete with friends. Choose to send in-game gifts or brag about your scores on you friends' timelines. Just don't spam them; nobody likes that.
