Last year, a little indie game titled Where Is My Heart? landed on PS Minis. The game, developed by Die Gute Fabrik, delivered a clever puzzling experience that was increasingly challenging and impressively satisfying. It also told a heartfelt tale about a family of monsters looking for their way back home after getting lost. Add to that a gorgeous visual design and a serene soundtrack reminiscent of The Album Leaf's beautiful sound, and you had what was easily one of the best indie games of 2011. Hell, it was my personal pick for indie game of the year!
Where Is My Heart? has been available as a PS Mini for a while now, but even though the platform supports PlayStation 3, Vita, and PSP functionality, it hadn't been downloadable on Sony's most recent handheld. That is, of course, until just a few days ago. According to Die Gute Fabrik, Where Is My Heart? was already playable on the Vita in Europe, so it's great to see North America getting it, too.
It was recently announced that Where Is My Heart? was in development for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Excellent news no doubt, and I can see the game being a major hit among PC indie gamers. Now that it's available for the Vita here in North America, it looks like there will be several ways to enjoy Where Is My Heart?
