Did you miss the Game of Thrones Season 4 premiere on Sunday? Fret not, as Microsoft and HBO are offering you an alternative to HBO GO. Starting today, you can watch the first episode of Game of Thrones fourth season on Xbox platforms for free.
The episode will be available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One from April 8 through April 14, Variety reports. The promotion is designed to attract non-HBO GO subscribers to sign up for the premium channel's online streaming service. HBO GO offers subscribers the ability to stream HBO's original content, like Game of Thrones; however, the service suffered outages from the high demand of the first episode's premiere.
Whether or not it'll actually convince people to sign up is one thing, but for Microsoft, this is just another way for them to promote the system as a true "all-in-one" entertainment machine capable of more than just playing games.
