I'm certain everyone knows the deal about Zelda for the Wii U by now. Though gamers were most certainly ecstatic to see Link in glorious HD during the Wii U reveal at E3, Nintendo has repeatedly stated that the footage shown was just meant to showcase what the Wii U could do graphically. In an interview with Official Nintendo Magazine, Skyward Sword Producer Eiji Aonuma once again addressed the issue of Zelda on the Wii U.
"We're definitely excited about the Wii U and its capabilities as a platform," said Aonuma. "Of course I can't really tell you any details about that at this point. However, I should say the demo you saw at E3 is more of a starting point at this time, especially from a graphical standpoint."
According to the producer, when Zelda does land on the Wii U, it's very likely that the game will look a lot different than the brief glimpse we got at E3. "You should expect many changes … our starting point is the gameplay and how we can make it work," continued Aonuma. "It's possible the game will look very different by the time it comes out."
So there you have it, my fellow Zelda fanatics. Skyward Sword isn't even out yet and Nintendo is already entertaining the idea of Zelda for the Wii U. Though I'm certain I will be very excited about a new game for Nintendo's upcoming platform, right now all I really care about is Skyward Sword, so bring it on, Nintendo!
