10 off-the-wall ideas for Assassin’s Creed locations

I’m not a huge fan of Assassin’s Creed. I can appreciate the first couple of games in the franchise, but I have had little to no interest in playing the newer ones. I will admit that the move to London with Victory has me intrigued.

With that said, I always think of some off-the-wall ideas for locations and premises for another Assassin’s Creed game. Have fun with this read… because we know none of these will ever happen.

10 Texas

Everything is bigger in Texas, which means Ubisoft would have to make this Assassin’s Creed game its biggest yet. I’m picturing old Texas, around 1836. You could have a sword and revolver and a duster and look just plain ol’ awesome. Maybe it revolves around the Alamo. This is the least off-the-wall, as I actually think this would make a great Assassin’s Creed game.

9 Star Trek

If you’re a Trekkie, you’re well aware of the shady side of Starfleet. This is especially true for Section 31 during Deep Space 9’s involvement in the Dominion War. I don’t know if Section 31 would be Assassins or Templars, but it would be a cool little dynamic on who you’re actually performing missions for, and whether they have Starfleet’s best interests in mind.

8 Destiny

What if the Guardians and the Traveler are the bad guys, and all these Vex and Hive are just being slaughtered by super soldiers? As an Assassin, you can go to the Tower and find out that the Speaker is a Templar, and only you can stop the Guardians from destroying everything in their path. Armed with a Blade of Crota, can you overcome their superior firepower? And is that mysterious Xur friend or foe?

7 Koopa

Mario gets all the credit for rescuing Princess Peach, but does anyone seriously believe that an obese, aging plumber can get through all of King Koopa’s forces? I don’t think so. You’re the Assassin that clears out all the really tough enemies, pulling the strings to see that the evil Bowser falls and Mario comes out the victor so Peach is still able to rule during a long and arduous war with Koopa.

6 The world of Yo Gabba Gabba

I already experienced Yo Gabba Gabba when my five-year-old was younger; there’s no way I’m going to go through that again with my two-year-old. The inhabitants of Yo Gabba Gabba and their overlord DJ Lance Rock need to be stopped, and an Assassin is just the person to do it. It would be twisted and have indie rock music playing that insists upon itself as you take down Muno, Foofa, Brobee, Toodee and Plex — I don’t trust AI.

5 Mass Effect

If you’ve played Mass Effect, it’s so obvious that the Illusive Man is a Templar. He’s not to be trusted and he tries to manipulate Commander Shepard. As an Assassin, someone has to have Shepard’s back on the Citadel. You can do the dirty work that assures Shepard’s success. Travel around and save the galaxy from the Geth and the Templars.

4 The Marvel Universe

The Marvel Universe is full of heroes, villains and politicians eager to use mutants and superheroes for their own agendas. When Iron Man needs to be put in line, who’s gonna do it? Probably Hulk or Captain America, but that’s not the point. Let’s finally have an Assassin with super powers! Forget falling into haystacks, just fly to the tippy tops of places to get the lay of the city. Instead of a hidden blade, how about a kinetic one like Psylocke? My god, the possibilities…

3 The Jurassic Period

Dinosaurs. Even better… Templars riding dinosaurs. Only an Assassin and his dino hunting skills would possess the strength and agility needed to take down these Jurassic beasts. Even better, what if instead of this taking place during the Jurassic Period, it’s modern day with Dinosaurs living in the wild and being used as weapons. Kind of like Jurassic World, but better.

2 Transylvania

I’m imagining an Assassin’s Creed in Transylvania as a better Van Helsing. The weaponry and outfits would look so freakin’ awesome, as would the architecture. And instead of your targets being people, you’re tasked with taking down some of the most classic monsters that the Templars have created. Frankenstein, Dracula, you name it… the whole gang is here.

1 Tatooine and Coruscant (Star Wars)

Imagine running around Tatooine, assassinating Imperials on behalf of the Rebel Alliance… or even the Hutts. So what if you might be considered a bounty hunter… you know that this would be an amazing location and premise for Assassin’s Creed. Or we can take to the bustling city of Coruscant, with all the seedy politics you can handle. Both locations would be prime candidates and the most exciting ones I can think of.
