I just finished House of Cards. I'm currently on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. After that, it's back to finishing Continuum. Watching Netflix is tricky in my household. There are certain shows that I watch alone (mainly because she's not interested or they're too violent/scary for her), certain shows she watches a lone, and then the shows that we are only allowed to watch together. Those “together” shows don't usually get finished quickly. House of Cards Season 3 took us a week because we can watch a max of two a night.
When we can't watch one of our “together shows,” my wife usually watches something fun and a bit retro like Saved by the Bell. Like most other Netflix users, there are shows we wish would join the service. This consists of both an older show that we'd like to watch episodes of, and shows we wish Netflix would revive and make another season – like they did with Arrested Development. Here are those shows:
Home Improvement
This is by far the number one show both my wife and I would love to re-watch from beginning to end. While I have watched a lot of this show, I'm sure there are episodes I've missed or don't remembers. I feel like I grew up with Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor and his family.
Chuck
Chuck was one of the first shows I binge-watched on Netflix, and during that time, I made a strong connection to Chuck, Morgan, Sarah, Chuck, Devon, Ellie and John Casey. Like most other huge Chuck fans, I'm dying for them to do a Chuck vs. the Movie. Don't get me wrong, I loved the ending, as bitter sweet as it was. But this is a chance for Netflix to try their hands at a two-hour film to wrap everything up. It sounds like the old cast are all open to the opportunity. Even better, if you want to give us one more season, Netflix, that would be much appreciated.
Firefly
The canceled-too-soon sci-fi western Firefly is already on Netflix; so is the movie it got, Serenity. Still, I know plenty of people would like to see more Firefly episodes. So give us the other season that Firefly deserves!
The Adventures of Pete & Pete
One of the best Nickelodeon shows. Ever. If you don't agree, you're wrong.
Salute Your Shorts
The second best show from Nickelodeon. Do you know how many adults my age would love to revisit Camp Anawanna?!!! Heck, we hold it in our heart. And when we think about it, it makes us want to… sorry, sorry. It's I hope we never part. Next time I'll get it right or pay the price.
Game of Thrones
I have HBO Go, so I was able to watch all of the Game of Thrones that way. But for people that don't have HBO, and don't want to torrent the seasons, and don't have the money to purchase the seasons, there's really no solution. Obviously, getting the streaming rights to Game of Thrones will never happen, either because of how much money it will get, or because HBO Go is about to be a subscription service. What's the draw to the service if Netflix has it too?
Mad About You
Now that I'm a married adult, I look back on this show and take it a lot differently. While I enjoyed it years ago, I think I'd understand and get more from it now.
The Big Bang Theory
You know what would be nice? If I could catch up on the last three seasons I haven't seen so I can watch the current episodes on TV. But CBS doesn't have episodes anywhere. It's the, not best, but highest-viewed show on TV, so CBS would want a mad amount of money for it, but think of how many people would watch it on Netflix.
Castle
I hear great things about this show, so obviously I want to start watching it from the beginning. I thought that Hulu would be the solution to my problem, but a bunch of episodes, including the first season isn't there. So… WTF am I supposed to do? Save the day, Netflix!
Family Matters
Like Home Improvement, returning to my after-school TV programming would be a welcome addition to Netflix. And my memory is a little foggy on how Steve Urkel becomes Stefan.
Who's the Boss?
From 1984 to 1992, Who's the Boss? was one of the most enjoyable sitcoms on television. This and Growing Pains were neck and neck for the last spot, but Tony, Angela, Samantha, Jonathan and Mona win out over the Seaver family.
