According to an Amazon.com listing, the 80GB PS3 may be hitting on August 12. This is the same week as the expected Xbox 360 price drop and also the release week of Madden 2008 for all systems.
Sony announced the 80GB model during E3 and revealed that outside of the bigger hard drive it would also be bundled with a copy of MotorStorm for a total of $599.
Currently, Amazon isn’t taking preorders on the system. It has also been revealed that neither Gamestop nor EBGames will be taking in-store preorders for the 80GB PS3.
