A quick guide to Fallout 4’s weapon crafting system

As you've probably heard, weapon crafting in Fallout 4 is a pretty big deal. Sure, you can play like me and rely entirely on loot, but using the rather robust crafting system you can create some pretty amazing weapons (and armor) in the game.

The problem with the weapon crafting system in Fallout 4 is the game does a pretty poor job of explaining things. And it doesn't help that the intricacies of the system can be rather intimidating, especially to newcomers.

So we put together a basic tutorial video explaining the different crafting options in Fallout 4 and what they do for the weapon. While the video above walks you through everything, below are the cliff notes.

Receiver: Changes the type of bullets used in the weapon.

Barrel: Changes range and accuracy.

Grip: Change the type of gun it becomes (pistol to rifle and vice versa, etc.)

Magazine: Change ammo capacity and reload speed.

Sights: Find the best sight (night vision, track target, etc.) for your weapon. Long range isn't always the best option.

Muzzle: Find the best muzzle for your weapon. Can improve recoil, suppress sound, reduce range, etc.

[Thanks Andy!]
