In speaking with Stephen Totilo of MTV Multiplayer, Bionic Commando Producer Ben Judd revealed a few things about his current project.
The key to the whole project so far seems to be nagging. Nagging Capcom, being nagged, all things seem to stem from nagging.
Regarding the “hot dog arm” that has had some people in a tizzy, Judd felt bad enough about peoples’ reaction that now, they’re “more like snake-skin.” The haircut? Not coming back… though it could be an unlockable.
And those who want Bionic Commando to appear on the Wii?
“I understand where they’re coming from,” he says. Keeping in mind that not all Wii players have bionic arms of their own, he says “If we did a Wii version it would not be with one-to-one swinging… you couldn’t do [that] for more than 10 minutes.”
Regarding the Rearmed prequel, Judd reveals that the PC version may see some extra content, while all versions will include “Metal Gear Solid”-styled virtual reality training missions.
Judd and Totilo also talk about how the project came to be– lots of nagging from Judd to his bosses– and that it began as a PSP game, and as it grew, was moved to consoles to become a full-fledged next-generation experience.
