Brawl Fans Fix a Game You Didn’t Know was Broken

Isn’t it sad that Super Smash Bros. Brawl is so completely unplayable? What’s that? You don’t think it is? Well, to be fair, the folks over at Smashboards don’t think so either, but that hasn’t kept them from releasing their Brawl re-balancing hack. The project, titled “Balanced Brawl,” exists to tweak various characters and stages to make everything just a little bit more fair. Chaingrabs have been removed, some moves are nerfed, and some are buffed.

Most of these changes will only really affect the most dedicated of Smash fans, but there are some notable changes for those of us who don’t take it so seriously. Tripping has been removed (thank you, almighty Jubbah!), some stages are slower, the Wi-Fi lobby has replaced Hanenbow in Vs. mode, and Ganondorf is now an unstoppable killing machine that can explode the head of not only any in-game character, but also that of whoever happens to be controlling them. Ok, not really.

You’ll need a hacked Wii with Gecko OS to use the code. They’re expecting future releases to run on unhacked Wiis somehow, though, so keep an eye out.
