Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Map Strategies – Downhill
At long last, the first DLC for Call of Duty Black Ops 2, Revolution, is out now for Xbox 360. With each new map comes specific strategies and I will be going over each of the four new maps in alphabetical order in order to help you be the best soldier you can be. Remember, you also get the powerful Peacekeeper SMG in the Revolution map pack so be sure to use it. Viva la Revolution.
Map #16 Downhill
Downhill is one of the bigger Call of Duty maps I can remember. This huge snow level (which seems to be based on a ski lodge) has many different ways to play. There is a giant outdoor area (pictured above and to the left and right) where most of the action takes place along with two windows (one where the ski chairs come out of and one in the raised building across the way) that people like to camp from.
Inside the actual ski lodge part (also in the picture above) is another key point to the map. Close combat rules here and the new Peacekeeper is fantastic at suppressing foes. Be careful around the ski chairs, as you cannot jump on them or get hit by them. If you do, you get an instant death, trust me I tried to ride one more than once.
The backend of the map features wide-open areas covered with rocks and snow. In the many times I played this map, I only saw one person in the back of the map so I wouldn’t recommend going in that area in the interest of action and fun.
Weapon Recommendation
This map is good for medium ranged weapons because part of it is close quarters and some of it is long range. This is a perfect map to try out your new Peacekeeper SMG, easily the best SMG I’ve used in Black Ops. I also noticed someone running around with a shotgun in the ski lodge (which decimated my team) so that is a viable strategy as well. For the Peacekeeper, I used the fore grip (better long range accuracy), laser sight (better aim when not looking down the sights), and reflex sight to make it the best weapon possible.
Pick 10
Primary – Peacekeeper
————Attachments – Fore grip, laser sight, reflex sight
Secondary – None
Perk 1 – Lightweight
Perk 2 – Cold Blooded
Perk 3 – Dead Silence
Lethal – Grenade
Tactical – Shock Charge
Wildcard – Primary Gunfighter
Scorestreaks
If you noticed, I don’t use Hardline anymore because scorestreaks are much harder to get in this game than the previous entries into the Call of Duty franchise. Even still, the best scorestreaks to use for this map include:
UAV – Find out where the enemy is located
Hunter Killer – Throw this towards the ski lodge part of the map
Care Package – How for something good
RC-XD – Easy to get and use
Overall Thoughts
Downhill is a good addition to the Black Ops 2 lineup. I personally love snow levels and this one doesn’t disappoint. Remember to try out the new Peacekeeper SMG, the first DLC weapon in any Call of Duty game, which seems a bit overpowered as everyone is using it.Watch out for the three windows/building on the map and you’ll be dominating the map when you purchase it in the Revolution DLC.
