Capcom Teases “Totally Awesome” New Project from Yoshinori Ono

Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono became a household name upon the release of the company’s fighting smash hit, Street Fighter IV. Now, although an SUPER-enhanced port of that game is on the way in 2010, that isn’t the only project that Ono seems to be cooking up.

In a tweet from the Capcom Unity Twitter, the company revealed that Ono is working on something new that won’t be revealed for a few months. Oh yeah, and it’s, and I quote, “totally awesome”.

So what is it? Ono was a producer on the last Onimusha title, Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, so a return to the classic samurai demon-slaying franchise could certainly be in the works. However, there is the fact that there aren’t enough arbitrary words added to “Street Fighter IV” yet, so maybe that’s also something Ono plans to alleviate.
