Bigben Interactive plans to bring Dance:UK to Xbox this July 2nd, following the success of the original dance mat game on PSone and PS2. The Xbox version features high score uploads over Live and a revised track listing, and will come bundled with an official dance mat. It should cost £40 in the UK.
The Xbox track listing has apparently been updated in response to feedback, and now includes various new songs in the hope of giving it “a more Pop and R&B vibe”. Curiously, a lot of the artists also featured on Sony’s recent SingStar karaoke compilation. Maybe the kids just have narrow tastes? Mis-Teeq, Liberty X, Sugababes, Daniel Bedingfield, Rachel Stevens and Jamelia have all been confirmed.
The game also takes advantage of Xbox Live, allowing players to upload high scores, and there will be four difficulty levels, training, head-to-head, multiplayer, jukebox and aerobics modes in addition to a “karaoke” mode, although we’re not sure if that uses the Music Mixer microphone or whether it’s simply a case of screaming at the TV.
Dance:UK should be out on Xbox this July 2nd.
