Ivory Citadel Walkthough | Boss Guide: How to beat Jamaerah the Scribe
At the end of the Ivory Citadel, you'll find Jamaerah, a big fat jerk floating in his chair. Time to take this baddie down to the ground.
Jamaerah will always start the battle by launching an energy ball at you, so keep moving and dodging to get out of the projectile's way. Afterwards, use the Voidwalker to open any two portals on the ground floor. Position yourself in front of one (easy to do by running through a portal and standing in place where you emerge) while using Redemption to get in some cheap hits. Jamaerah will attempt to fire another energy ball, so lock on and dodge once he thrusts his hands forward to throw it. The energy ball will pass through the portal behind you and slam into the Scribe, stunning him so you can run forward for some damage.
At half health, Jamaerah will float over the battlefield, preparing to use a ground slam. Quickly open a portal in the air, then jump through your portal on the ground once he starts descending in order to avoid the electric shockwave. After this, he will summon two corrupted angels to distract you. Dispatch them as quickly as you can, then return to using the energy ball fakeout for more damage.
With 1/10th of his heath remaining, Jamaerah will use another ground pound. Use the escape to the air trick, then open the portal he reveals beneath his chair. With a portal open beneath him, and another portal placed on the second story, his electric attack will go through and strike him, leaving this boss battle finished!
