Boss Guide: How to beat Gnashor
After putting the third animus stone into place, the Gilded Arena's champion will appear: Gnashor. To fight this baddie, you'll want to immediately equip the Deathgrip. While backpeddling away from the ground burrowing creature, use your dodge button to hop out of the way of its trail, as well as to dodge its spinning wheel attack. When it comes up from the ground, use the Deathgrip to grab it by the skull and slam it into the ground, moving in to deliver some punishment while its stunned.
After slamming it twice into the ground, Gnashor will jump into a pile of bones and start fighting you. Move in close to deliver your attacks, while making sure to jump out of the way when Gnashor winds up for an attack. Gnashor's most common attacks will involved ripping his spine out of his body (with skull attatched!) then trying to hit you with it! Dodge out of the way of these attacks, will sidestepping the ground waves that get sent out from each hit.
Luckily, you can keep a safe distance from Gnashor, then once his skull is back atop his body, use the Deathgrip to get in close for more damage. When he growls at your, that's your chance to grab him by the jaw and slam him into the ground for more punishment! He'll respond by again burrowing into the ground, but simply dodge these obvious underground attacks, then repeat the Deathgrab menuvering / spine attack avoidance once he resurfaces.
It will take three grabs to bring Gnashor down, and make sure not to miss the opening for these or he could regenerate some health. Following this you'll be rewarded with proof of having defeated the Gilded Arena's champion, and be ready to confront the approach the throne of bones!
