Press Releases are so cliche. Everyone knows job listings are the new way to advertise your game early. You attract potential employees and you tantalize the media with supposedly secret information. Case in point: EA’s job listing for a Senior Online Level Designer for Dead Space 2.
Potential candidates need to “Own the level design for the online game, be able to work collaboratively with Creative Director and Online Producer to create extremely fun, satisfying and polished multiplayer levels.”
Read on for more on the game’s current state.
The project description goes on to explain how Dead Space 2 “will set new standards for an action-packed story-driven console experience.”
“The game is in the later stages of pre-production, ready for production in the next few months, with many of the navigational and combat mechanics in place. We have complete autonomy and creative control over our own decisions.”
A cooperative mode seems like the most obvious multiplayer component for a survival-horror game. Then again, with Natal and Sony’s motion-wand launching next year, EA could also be looking for ways to incorporate motion control.
