Fallout 3 Takes Over D.C. Metro Station

Looks like the Fallout 3 hype train has finished loading up and is ready to take off. In what is to become the initial start of a what I’m assuming will be a fairly huge marketing campaign, Bethesda has taken over the Metro Center Station in Washington D.C. Located all over the station are ads that not only remind you that Fallout 3 is a mere 3 weeks away (OMG!) but also do a great job of not overselling anything.

Pete Hines, Fallout 3’s product manager, wrote us to say the ads are currently only at the Metro Center station. He explains the company took over all the ad space there for the month, adding that DC residents will start seeing bus and bus shelter ads in the near future. The company plans to promote Fallout 3 in other US cities soon.– Joystiq

I need all of those ads in my apartment. Who else is with me? We’ll raid the station and split the profits – full size Fallout 3 ads for everyone.

As you can tell, I’ve already been sold on this game for about a decade but it’s cool to see some good advertising getting out there for it. Strangely enough, there are many people out there who have never played a Fallout game and I feel sorry for them. Hopefully whatever campaign Bethesda has planned manages to get their attention and Fallout 3 goes onto to being one of the bestsellers this holiday season.
