Forbes: Rock Band “a Shameless Knockoff of Guitar Hero”

Forbes has added a new article to their website, reflecting their recent cover story in which they look over the dominance which Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick has helped to maintain in the video game marketplace– “Activision’s Unlikely Hero,” they call him.

However, websites all across the net are latching onto one part in particular:

EA also teamed with MTV to sell Rock Band, a shameless knockoff of Guitar Hero that added drums, bass and a microphone to the world of make-believe rock stars. — Forbes

Sing it with me: Some~body didn’t do their research…

Indeed, how dare Harmonix, who developed Rock Band, make a game like the one which they originally created. Granted, they took their inspiration from Konami’s GuitarFreaks, which it seems even Konami couldn’t properly emulate when given the chance recently, but that’s neither here nor there.

Oh, and speaking of mistakes, it appears I used the wrong picture at the top of the article; this is the one from Forbes:

I have no idea how I could have gotten the two mixed up (yes I do).
