Guilty Gear Dust Striker Ships For DS

aMajesco Entertainment has announced today that shipping has officially begun for their latest Nintendo DS title, Guilty Gear Dust Strikers.

The game, now shipping throughout North America was developed by ARC System Work and features over twenty one characters that can engage in vertically oriented battles that span both screens of the Nintendo DS.

“Guilty Gear Dust Strikers is designed to take advantage of the DS’ unique dual screen layout and touch screen mechanic,” said Ken Gold, vice president of Marketing for Majesco. “As the first series offering for Nintendo DS(TM), Guilty Gear Dust Strikers will appeal to core franchise fans and portable gamers looking for a deep fighting experience they can enjoy with friends.”

The game comes equipped with six game modes including the standard Arcade mode as well as a main Story element and VS battles. For the game’s multiplayer modes, the developers have allowed for up to four players to simultaneously compete wirelessly in a number of mini-games with the last player standing crowned victorious.

Guilty Gear DS also grants players the opportunity to customize their characters with special, powerful unlockable combo-attacks and special moves in the game’s RK-Factory.

The standard 2D fighting style is complimented nicely by the existence of special items that can have a dramatic effect on the gameplay situation. Items such as Swap, Tension Max, Freeze, and Thunder have a profound impact on the game’s numerous battles as they can help users overcome the devastating force of special moves like Psych Burst and Dust Attack to name a few.

Guilty Gear’s main story line is handheld nicely, as it provides the user with incentive to complete each character’s missions due to a complex, intertwining story between the 21 available characters. Upon completing a character’s campaign, the user unearths information about that particular character as well as new information regarding others.
