One of the most historic elections is taking place right now and it is wildly stressful for almost every American. Candidates are doing and saying incredibly stupid things and we have to determine who is the fittest to run our country for the next four years. Usually, people pick a political party and stick with it through each election but this election is different! Some people are crossing parties because they don’t believe in their party’s nominee. It’s super stressful and we here at GameZone understand that so we have come up with a small list to get your mind off of it! Below you’ll find five awesome games that’ll ease your mind and will hopefully take the stress off you! Don’t forget to go out and vote, though!
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered dropped last Friday to critical praise for the most part. We personally loved the epic campaign in Infinite Warfare because of its great characters, mission variety, themes of war, and overall plot. It is rich with lore and story and if you’re looking for a good co-op game, Infinite Warfare has that as well in its zombie mode!
Infinite Warfare features an excellent zombie mode playable with up to four people! Fight off hundreds of waves of the undead in a space theme park appropriately named Spaceland! You can use the park’s attractions as traps, collect perks and other goodies for special gameplay bonuses, and much more. It’s hours of fun and you don’t have to use too much brain power to enjoy it!
We shouldn’t have to say much about this one. One of the best first-person shooters of the last generation has been brought over to Xbox One, PS4, and PC with beautifully upgraded graphics, amazing combat, and more. For newcomers, you must play the campaign! The campaign is an epic, cinematic adventure filled with shocking jaw-dropping moments that remain some of the most memorable moments in all of gaming.
The game also features one of the most simplistic multiplayer modes in the series, keeping everything fair and balanced. The game is a fun way to pass the time and if you get too frustrated with the multiplayer, you can just jump into the campaign and enjoy a good story with summer blockbuster movie moments.
Grand Theft Auto V may have released three years ago but that doesn’t mean it isn’t still going strong. Whether you’re looking for a racing game, a crime game, an action-adventure game, a competitive multiplayer game, or really anything else, GTA V has something for you. There is so much variety in GTA V thanks to all of the side content both in single player and multiplayer so you won’t run out of things to do for a really long time.
The game also allows players to create maps and modes so you can find even more content in multiplayer that ranges from crazy Hot Wheel-esque racetracks all the way to destruction derby maps where players ram each other with big, fast cars.
If you’re not looking to really see a lot of chaos, the game features a beautiful map and an awesome licensed soundtrack to listen to as you drive around and look at all the vistas. You can fly above the clouds in a plane and enjoy the city below you, go deep sea diving and examine the wildlife, or play a round of golf by yourself or with some friends! Grand Theft Auto V is just as relaxing as it is chaotic.
If the election is making you angry, there’s no better way to alleviate that anger than by killing hundreds if not thousands of demons while a killer guitar riffs in the background. Rip apart demons with your bare hands, a chainsaw, a shotgun, or one of the game’s many super weapons. This game is brutal, goofy, and incredibly fun and you’re sure to get some enjoyment out of it. I’m sure there’s some PC mod out there replacing the demons with models of the political candidates but don’t hold me to that!
Doom is sure to relieve that intense stress inside you and will bring a big smile to your face with the excellent soundtrack and awesome gameplay.
What better way to ignore the election than to go back to one of the worst wars of all time? Battlefield 1 brings World War 1 into your living room with phenomenal graphics, great gameplay, and a brutal, visceral campaign. Maybe you’ll realize that if we as both a country and a planet lived through World War 1, we can survive this election!
The game has an emotional campaign showing five stories from five different characters and factions that give you a variety of different missions. You can start wherever you’d like in the campaign as none of the stories are directly connected. If you want to start as a mischievous pilot or a rookie tank driver, you can! Or you can fight alongside Lawrence of Arabia and help take down a giant tank wiping out natives.
If you’re more of a multiplayer kind of person, you can join matches with up to 64 players and fight to control land with vehicles like planes, boats, and tanks or run on foot with a flamethrower or LMG. While it may not be a relaxing game, it’ll certainly make you realize we may not have it as bad as we think!
