Ubisoft has recently announced that they have shipped their upcoming DS title, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory to retailers across North America. Arriving in stores on June 28th, Chaos Theory will carry an MSRP of $39.99.
According to Ubisoft, the DS version of the game is considerably different than it’s console iterations. The DS title is set to feature the same moves and weapons as the others, but will also include the exclusive Swat Turn move. The touch screen of the DS is also heavily used. By using the screen gamers can manage Sam Fisher’s inventory, maneuver the camera, and cycle through three different modes of vision.
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory will also come equipped with a wide variety of multiplayer features. A Cooperative Mode is available for two DS users, from which they can elect to help each other in one of five missions. They will also be given the option of choosing their character type. Ubisoft has given gamers the option of electing either an Assault type character or a Hacker.
If that isn’t enough multiplayer action for you, than Ubisoft has also provided an extensive Versus Mode. With over seven maps available, and support for up to four players, “versus mode places you in a war of Shadownet spies against Argus mercenaries. While spies try to hack computer devices to steal important information, mercenaries must patrol and guard these stations.”
