Jackson Unhappy With EA

The New York Times has recently printed an article where acclaimed film director Peter Jackson has publicly declared his unhappiness with Electronic Arts.

The major publisher of video games was given the rights to develop a series of titles based around the popular Lord of the Rings movie series. During development of the games, Jackson desired to have his ideas implemented into the games. However, according to Jackson’s manager “Electronic Arts was not interested in input from the filmmaker.”.

Jackson’s manager also appeared unhappy that Electronic Arts marketed the Lord of the Rings games as if director Peter Jackson was indeed involved in their production.

The NY Times article continues, quoting a spokesperson from Electronic Arts who declared Jackson’s involvement “above and beyond expectations.”.

Jackson has already signed on with rival publisher UbiSoft, as the company is currently producing a game based around the directors upcoming theatrical release, King Kong.Bully: Scholarship Edition takes place in the fictional New England boarding school of Bullworth Academy, and tells the story of 15-year-old Jimmy Hopkins as he experiences the highs and lows of adjusting to a new school. Capturing the hilarity and awkwardness of adolescence perfectly, Bully: Scholarship Edition pulls the player into its cinematic and engrossing world. Universally acclaimed upon first release, Bully: Scholarship Edition is a genre-crossing action game with a warmth and pathos that is unrivaled.
