Lost Planet Invades New York City

This holiday season is in full swing, and everywhere you look is covered with advertisements for the season’s hottest games. Not to be outdone, Capcom has coughed up plenty of cash for a chance to remind millions of shoppers that while their upcoming Xbox 360 shooter Lost Planet: Extreme Condition won’t be on shelves in time for the holidays, it’s still just around the corner.

The publisher announced today that a 60-second trailer for Lost Planet will be airing on NBC’s giant screen in Times Square starting next week, and will run through New Year’s Eve. The company expects the trailer to be viewed over 40 million times during that time.

“Our goal is to share the incredible Lost Planet experience with as many people as possible,” said Charles Bellfield, vice president of marketing at Capcom. “What better way to make an impact than by presenting the game in one of the most recognized and visible spots in the world, during the busiest time of the year.”

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is rated T for Teen, and both the regular and collector’s editions are expected to ship on January 12. For more info, check out AMN’s impressions of the game from this year’s Tokyo Game Show.
