Microsoft Corp. Chief Executive Doesn’t Fear Sony

In a recent interview with C|Net News.com Steve Ballmer talked about Microsofts stance on the next console war.

“I think the work that Bill (Gates) and I have been doing, really together, is to make sure we are investing in new areas. Look at what we have done with Xbox.” Ballmer said. “We may still be losing money, but we have gone from nowhere to a significant player with a whole different approach. We’ve generated something brand new. I bet we can take Sony next generation. I am betting we can take Sony in the next generation.”

A few days ago Sony said they plan on showing off the PS3 before E3 2005 and it will be fully playable at E3 2005. The first shots are already being shot for the next console war. Expect things to heat up soon, as the companies start to show off thier next consoles in the coming months.
