While Nintendo's releases may be few and far between, they're actually killing it in May. Not only do we finally get the chance to play the highly anticipated Splatoon, which tasks players to dominate the battlefield with paint guns, but we also get the remake of Devil Survivor 2, the first-ever Hatsune Miku for the 3DS and a game I personally can't wait to play, Puzzle & Dragons Z + Super Mario Bros. Edition.
There seems to be a game for everyone in May, whether you're the tactical type, the puzzle loving type, the music game type or perhaps the action adventure type.
Let's take a look at May's Nintendo offerings shall we.
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker
A follow up to the remake of Devil Survivor on the 3DS, and a remake of the original Devil Survivor 2 on the DS, Record Breaker comes with a slew of new additions, such a whole new storyline and voice acting, bringing each and every character to life.
If you're a fan of tough tactical combat with a focus on collecting and fusing demons, this will be right up your alley.
Puzzle & Dragons Z + Super Mario Bros. Edition
I've played the mobile version of Puzzle & Dragons for about a year. I've had my ups and downs with the game, but ultimately the RNG factor killed it for me. This is why I'm pumped for the 3DS version, since any sign of microtransactions are seemingly gone, and now there's an actual story to play through.
It also comes bundled with the Super Mario Bros. Edition, which for the most part is the same game, but with a Mario theme.
Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX
I'm a huge fan of Hatsune Miku's games on Sony platforms, and I'm pumped that I'll have yet another portable system for her to live on. The game will feature 48 full length versions of fan favorite songs, multiple modes and playstyles. Players will be able to either play through Touch Mode or Button Mode, depending on their personal preference.
Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains
Easily one of the more popular Anime shows, Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains is actually an older 3DS title, that we're just now getting here in America.
The game will allow up to four players to team up either online or locally, to take down hordes of Titans whether it's on Wall Maria, Trost District or the Forest of Giant Trees. Of course, the game, much like the show, will allow players to zip through the sky thanks to the Omni-directional Mobility Gear, which will give them the upper hand against the threatening Titans.
Splatoon
Nintendo is well known for their more kid-friendly approach. And while Splatoon is a game that's certainly built with family friendliness in mind, it has enough for even the hardcore to enjoy.
Splatoon revolves around covering the battlefield in your chosen color. This also provides the player with increased mobility, since they can turn into squid-like creatures and use their own color to travel fast across the stage. By the end of the round, whoever covered the most in their specific color is the winner.
