Sony may start selling PlayStation 3 in Japan as early as
midyear and elsewhere by the end of the year, two years
ahead of schedule, according to Taiwan’s Commercial Times.
Citing unnamed sources at Hon Hai Precision engineering,
(The current manufacturer of PS2) The PS3, will begin trial
production runs in April.
Sony denied the report, saying the timing of a succesor
machine to the Playstation2 has not been decided.
It is possible that production runs of a mock-up version of
the PS3 Architecture will take place. Perhaps for a public
exhibition later this year?
