PSN Sales Go Through the Roof in Europe

After selling a record number of units in Europe, the PS3 has surprised the company this year after PSN sales rose into the millions.

“One thing that has surprised us is in the Network purchases and the general level of interest that has been shown around the Network business,” said Sony CEO David reeves. “We’ve gone from zero to almost double-digit millions in terms of what people have purchased in euros.”

Reeves claims that 40 percent of users in PAL territories have signed up for PSN registrations and have totaled 33 million downloads. Currently, there are 25 stores running in Europe.

During the last five weeks of 2007, the PS3 sold 1.2 million units in Europe. The increase in sales is attributed the price cut made in October as well as the regular holiday buzz.
