Fans of the ultra-violent Wii game MadWorld may have reason to be excited as Sega is considering making sequels.
Sega has come to this decision after seeing the first set of data from sales, which they have reportedly called “very encouraging.” Being kind of a numbers guy, I’d like to see just how encouraging, but we’ll have to wait for that.
When talking to VentureBeat, Vice President of Marketing for Sega of America Sean Ratcliffe talked about the idea of having sequels for MadWorld. “If it resonates with the audience, yes, we absolutely want to make that into a franchise. I think it’s unique, and there are many aspects of that game which are sort of pushing boundaries. And it’s just great fun.”
I love sequels to good games, as long as they don’t start churning them out so often that they become tired and boring. Here’s hoping Sega takes a while to put some work into a follow-up, instead of just churning out more and more Wii games and sequels to make a quick buck.
