Sony Ericsson Considering Use of PlayStation Brand

The Financial Times is reporting that Sony Ericsson may use the PlayStation brand in future versions of its mobile devices.

“It’s an area of possible future activity,” said Miles Flint, president of Sony Ericsson. He added, “We need to make sure that it is a credible phone, and be sure we are justified in putting that identity on it.”

Sony currently holds fifty percent in Sony Ericsson, which has successfully made use of Sony’s Walkman and Cybershot brands in the past. The company is currently producing a Bravia-branded handset with mobile TV capabilities in Japan.
