TGS 2008: All Future Sony Japan PSP Titles Will be Released as Downloads

Image that… Sony is raising the bar for the delivery of first party software. In Japan, from now on, every first party PSP game will be released, simultaneously, in both the standard UMD format and as a download on the PSN.

The first games that will be seeing this new method of release include LocoRoco 2, Patapon 2 and Secret Agent Clank. The service will become available on the day that PSP’s will be able connect to the PSN Store… October 15th.

There have been no word of plans to extend this method to either North America or Europe, but how many of you are interested in this? Would you like a digital version of a game rather than a tangible one?
