The Weekly Drop for PS4 (4/20/15)

Every week we bring you a look at the upcoming games for the week, and every week, we give you a reason to open that wallet, and perhaps even indulge in multiple titles.

Unfortunately, we only have one recommendation this week, since it also seems the be the only major release. Good thing it's one of the best platforming experiences to date. No, seriously, check our review. That's right, this week marks the release of the PS4 version of Shovel Knight.

Shovel Knight – PS3/PS4/Vita – April 21st

Shovel Knight stars the titular knight who wields a shovel as a weapon, to save Shield Knight. This quest will take him through a slew of stages filled with pure platforming bliss.

Our review really tells you just how amazing this little game from Yacht Club Games is, but if you don't feel like clicking over, here is an excerpt:

Maybe you missed the great games of the 8-bit era, or maybe you’re a parent who wants to subject your children to the punishment of Castlevania, Battletoads, and Mega Man that you went through. For you, I think Shovel Knight goes beyond being a polished, fun, challenging experience. It’s a curation of gaming history in a package that’s palatable to today’s audience. There’s no longer a need to load up an emulator and abuse save states to get your fix of the NES days. You can just play some Shovel Knight.

Seriously though, buy Shovel Knight.
