The Weekly Drop for Xbox One, PS4, PC and 3DS (5/18/15)

The wait has been painful. With a few painful delays out of the way, fans will finally get their hands on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. But Witcher isn't the only game that's releasing this week.

In fact, if you have no affinity for massive, open-world fantasy adventures, and prefer something a little more anime-centric, there isn't just one, but two Hyperdimension Neptunia games releasing on the same day too. Also, fans of Life is Strange will finally get to play the third chapter which will continue the story of Max and her ability to rewind time. Lastly, the mobile sensation Puzzle & Dragons is seeing its first handheld debut on the Nintendo 3DS with Puzzle & Dragons Z + Super Mario Bros Edition, which includes two completely separate adventures, no microtransactions required.

Let's take a look at the releases:

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2: Sisters Generation

Back in February, I reviewed this game on the PS Vita. Much like the first game, I enjoyed the more faster-paced battle system, and its unique brand of comedy, which parodies the gaming industry and the constant console wars.

This time the game is making its way to PC, complete with an updated resolution and framerate, to make the game run buttery smooth. If you don't have a Vita and were interested in checking this zany series out, you'll be able to on May 19th.

Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed

In an effort to take over every gaming genre, the next Hyperdimension Neptunia game is an action title, much like the recent Dynasty Warriors series.

You'll be able to pick from the cast of cute CPU heroines and some bonus characters as well, and take on a slew of enemies from past games with high action combat and flashy super-moves.

Life is Strange: Episode 3 – Chaos Theory

The strange case of Max and her ability to rewind time continues in Episode 3 and picks up after Episode 2's crazy cliffhanger. We won't go into spoiler territory if you haven't yet played the game, but if you're a fan of TellTale's adventure series, you might like Dontnod's take on the genre. You can also catch up on the story and game elements in our Episode 1 and Episode 2 review.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

This is it. This is the big one! CD Projekt Red's crazy ambitious open-world title is finally here. You'll once again step into the shoes of Geralt of Rivia and finish the trilogy that started in 2007.

While we're still waiting for our actual review copy to come in, it looks like other major sites have already given their verdict, and are absolutely loving the game. The combat is quicker, the world is bigger and the stakes are higher.

Puzzle & Dragons Z + Super Mario Bros Edition

Puzzle & Dragons is one of the most popular mobile titles out there, allowing players to collect various monsters and dragons and trek through dungeons to defeat other powerful monsters, power-up and ultimately evolve their monsters into badass fighting machines.

The 3DS version takes the same puzzle formula but adds a new RPG layer on top of it, complete with a city to explore. The microtransactions from the mobile game are thankfully gone, which means some of the RNG elements are gone as well, making this one of the better experiences. And hey, it also comes with a bonus Mario themed Puzzle & Dragons completely free. You can check out my official review right here.
