In the world of video games, there are many cute but yet useless characters. They whine, they annoy and ultimately alter the entertainment value of the game. The following characters listed below may be cute, however, do not be fooled because their attitude and how they conduct themselves is anything but. Taking different roles and jobs, these cute characters present themselves as bounty hunters, mindless drones, and killing machines.
10. Mysterious Children (Limbo)
In the absent world of Limbo, it is an odd experience seeing other children in the game. At first thought, you think that they are cute little children that may be of aid to your adventure. However, the foolish thought is extinguished, as your character is killed a few seconds later. Even if you offered them candy, these little children do not want to play with you.
9. Midna (The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess)
Midna is a mysterious character in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. At first, she seems like the same annoying guide with repetitive dialogue to grate the skin. However, she is a staple character in the story and, despite her impish exterior, she is the puppet master of your adventure. She may appear weak, but don’t doubt her; she has serious power that she withholds.
8. Kit Ballard (Blade Kitten)
Kit Ballard is a bounty hunter and a damn good one. She is a Felion (human/cat hybrid) and one of the last remnants of her race. Do not let her cute exterior fool you into thinking that she is a whiny pushover. She may be easy on the eyes, but most importantly, she is the best bounty hunter in the entire Korunda System, capable of defeating enemies without drawing a sweat from her brow with the help of her sword.
7. Kirby (Kirby franchise)
Kirby is pink. Kirby is round. Kirby has a friendly face. However, in the eyes of his enemies, he is a menace. In Kirby’s previous installments, he would swallow his enemy’s whole. Now with the overhaul of his appearance and trademark kill streak, he now tears his enemies apart, watching the pieces fall to the ground. So yes, appearances aside, Kirby is not harmless.
6. Pokey/Porky Minch (Earthbound/ Mother Series)
Pokey or Porky Mirch is Ness’s neighbor in Earthbound. Upon your first encounter with this character, you may think he is a dimwit, who seems to be abused by his parents. But don’t let his non-threatening looks fool you — he is a menace. He has tricked people into following him into a cult, to do his biddings. Later on, he becomes powerful by teaming up with the enemy and using his intelligence to build a powerful mechanical device. It’s safe to say that you don’t want to be on his bad side.
5. Chun Li (Street Fighter)
Chun Li is a legend among her fighting brethren. She doesn’t complain; instead, she gets the job done with her lightning fast reflexes. While her latest design has catapulted the size of her legs from eye-candy to the size of tree trunks, she still has a demeanor that isn’t volatile. Struggling with the death of her father, she is out for revenge and has a vendetta against anyone that stands in her way.
4. Conker (Conkers Bad Fur Day)
Do not let his big eyes and soft animal fur mesmerize you. He may be a squirrel — an animal that is often thought to be cuddly and generous by many — but he’s definitely not a character aimed at children. Conker is a drunk and swears like a sailor. Although he often wakes up with a hangover, he still manages to find time in his day to vanquish enemies, find wads of cash scattered throughout the land, and save the day.
3. Marcy (Chrono Cross)
In Chrono Cross, you meet many people in your adventure. Many of them come and go, but one stands out: Marcy. She is not easily forgotten; she is a nine year old and the youngest member of the Acacian Dragoon Devas. This defiant group wants everyone dead and will go to extreme measures to obtain their goal. Regardless of age, Marcy packs a mean punch and isn’t to be messed with.
2. Sue Sakamoto (Cave Story)
In Cave Story, Sue embarked on journey to the floating island for research and was turned into a Mimaga by the Doctor. The Doctor was also a part of her research team and stole the demon crown to gain power over the island. In the final battle against the Doctor, Sue is infected by the red gem and instead of transforming into a hideous bulked up, killing machine, like the rest of the Mimagas, she instead transforms into a murderous playboy bunny.
1. The Little Sisters (Bioshock)
At first glance, these little girls seem like harmless human beings, poking at a dead body with a stick. They maybe adorable with their grey skin and yellow eyes; however, if you touch these little girls, you’re in for a world of hurt as Big Daddies will kill anyone and anything that comes near their little sisters. Mr. Bubbles says, no touchy.
