Last Saturday, November 15, our news editor Matt Liebl and I attended the Florida State vs. Miami game. I'm a Hurricanes fan []_[], and it was the first time that I attended a game between the two rivals. The game didn't disappoint. There were a lot of big plays from both teams, and the game wasn't decided until one minute was left in regulation.
Florida State won, unfortunately. But the loss wasn't as bad as the one I experienced playing Super Smash Bros. for Wii U at the Nintendo booth.
As part of their College Tailgate Tour, Nintendo brought Super Smash Bros. for both Wii U and 3DS to Sun Life Stadium, with some 3DS XL handhelds to play on, as well as two big-screen TVs to play the game on Wii U. It wasn't the full retail version of the game — there were characters and levels missing, proving it was the one we've seen at other events and not the same version we are currently reviewing. Still, it's not every day Nintendo (or anyone for that matter) comes to sunny South Florida. So I got a few games in with the GameCube controller, lost as Sonic, Starfox and Link (I'm not very good), and snapped a few photos and a video.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U releases this Friday on November 21. Make sure to check back for our review tomorrow. In the meantime, read our review for the 3DS version.
