Will Burnout Have Two Screens?

A recent catalogue by Electronic Arts has given many the impression that the Burnout series will be making an appearance on the Nintendo DS. EA has already confirmed that they are developing a version of the title for the Playstation Portable. In the catalogue given to retailers, the company indicated that the PSP edition of the game would be available sometime in the Summer of 2005, as for the DS, the title is still listed as TBD. However, Electronic Arts has yet to comment on the possibility of a DS Burnout game.
A further source has also “confirmed” a DS release for the series, as Eurogamer.net has posted a quote from an “EA Insider”, saying “Yes, Burnout Legends is heading to the DS.”

This alleged title is said to be developed by a French third party developer, under the supervisement of Criterion.

Reports of an EA-made product catalog, which further proves that the project is indeed being planned, have been confirmed.

AMN News EIC Ray Almeda received a copy of the catalog Tuesday morning, which indeed confirms the original report. However, by the looks of it, it still seems as if the project is still extremely early in development.

EA has yet to release a published statement regarding Burnout for the DS, but when more is revealed, you’ll be sure to hear about it here first.

Furhter confirmation regarding the existance of Burnout Legends on the Nintendo DS has been revealed today. In a scan of an EA product ad, the company gives the DS title a tentative release date of the upcoming holliday season.

Details regarding the gameplay of the title have yet to emerge, however it is expected that Electronic Arts will reveal the title to the public shortly. Stay tuned to DS Advanced for continued coverage of this developing story.
