Konami has entered the mobile market and currently has a few offerings in the works. At E3, I got a brief rundown of some of the titles that the company is planning to release in the near future. These games are by no means the standard Konami fare, and if you're not sold on the idea of mobile gaming or simply don't care, chances are these titles won't win you over. If you're the type of person who likes spending small amounts of time playing mobile games, however, it's possible that these projects will appeal to you.
Domo Jump
First up was Domo Jump, a vertical endless jumping game starring the titular Domo. Aside from jumping to great heights, you can collect special items to rack up your high score and unlock alternate costumes. If you're into simple time sinks, Domo Jump could be worth checking out. Developed by Kung Fu Factory, the game will land on iOS platforms for free this summer.
Casino League
The second mobile game presented at Konami's booth was Casino League. This title features tournament Texas Hold 'Em for two to four players. The game is being touted as a live online competition and will allow players to team up or face each other head-to-head. Casino League is due out for iOS, Android, and Kindle platforms and is expected to launch sometime this summer at no charge.
MLB Live Challenge
The last game I saw at Konami's mobile section at E3 was MLB Live Challenge. This social baseball game will feature actual real-life player statistics, allowing you to build your own roster from current Major League Baseball stars. Depending on how the actual athletes play in real life, the stats of the players you choose will be affected accordingly. You'll be able to take on other users' teams across North America. MLB Live Challenge is due out on iOS devices and Facebook “soon,” and both versions will be connected to each other.
