Halo 3 – 360 – Preview

E3 2006 First Look Trailer Preview

One of
the games that I was really looking forward to seeing unveiled at this year’s E3
was HALO 3, and unfortunately that didn’t happen. However, there was a short
trailer running that pretty much squashes the “there will be no HALO 3” rumor …
and here’s what I got to see.

The
opening shot shows a wrecked ship, maybe, since it’s really dark. Suddenly, a
ghostly static crackle emerges in the middle of the screen, falls silent, then
appears again. It pops back up shortly thereafter, then more frequently, and
suddenly the figure of a woman’s face emerges in a ghostly electrical aura … and
fans will recognize it as none other than Cortana. “Wake up” she says, and
following a short dialogue, you see Master Chief emerge from the wreckage from
the ending of HALO 2, where he crashes to earth after trying to stop the
Covenant invasion.

Master
Chief casually walks up the edge of a cliff, and as the camera pans out you see
Covenant ships, Banshees, etc. flying overhead and heading to a city on earth as
a large vortex opens up in the clouds overhead. Looks like Master Chief will be
locking and loading to kick some Covenant tail on his homeworld sometime in the
future.
