No More Heroes Open World to be Better Says Suda
kombo -
No More Heroes has been considered by most fans as one of the better mature offerings on the Wii. As great as the game was rated, one of the most noticeable flaws in the game was its open world. Mainly, the fact it lacked much to do or give an interactive feel like games such as Grand Theft Auto IV provides. Suda 51 has heard the complaints and plans on addressing those in next year's sequel, Desperate Struggle. This was an excerpt from their interview in Nintendo Power.
"The city will be more compact and feel more denser. There will be more stuff to do, and you'll be able to access more activities and minigames from the very beginning. We want to mix it up a little bit more. For example, after you defeat a boss, you might jump into another boss fight immediately. we want to break up the tempo so it's not always the same thing like it was in the first No More Heroes.
Also, we're really adjusting the amount of money that you have to earn before you can proceed to the next fight. We don't want it to be as much of a pain as it was in the first game."
Having a better open world sounds like a great idea. As much as I loved the game, it ended much too quickly because there was little to distract you from the main task at hand. As for the comment about adjusting the money needed for boss battles, I care to disagree. It seemed like most of the time I already had enough money in hand by the end of a boss battle. If anything the numbers needed to be higher, not lower.
As long as the end product is just as fun as the last one (and hopefully a bit longer), I'll be waiting in line with anticipation.
